I have been looking for size 10-12 and smaller loop.... up eye salmon hooks for a while now.....most of the suppliers I have contact with do not have these sizes on the salmon hook...at least not to my knowledge ....anymore.....not a big ticket item??????? suppose so....so today I went to the post here in Sitka Ak...i believe it august 5th and to my surprise my small salmon hooks were here....now that's fast....at least for here.....!!!!!! the hooks themselves are beautifully made...well packaged....and will serve my purposes....a couple of dayz ago...one of the shops I tie for......wanted ~ 7 doz each of a sockeye fly I tie...the tie specifically uses a salmon fly hook.....the hook style allows for small weighted dumbbell eyes..just south if the eye loop on the hook shank.... this creates a fairly heavy small fly that does not hinge and due to its balance...can be cast a very long way with a very light rod.....and get down to these picky feeshes....fairly fast......sockeye...at least here.... like the small krill crustaceous type flies....these hooks are perfect for this.... so thanks for being a source of this hook...got any # 14 salmon hooks...same maker ????? ritch Phillips....Sitka Ak.
